Announcing New CEO & President, Jennifer Bonnett

Dear Valued Nonprofit Lifecycle Institute Colleague:

 

In this season of Thanksgiving, as we pause in heartfelt gratitude, I write to share the appointment of Jennifer Bonnett, MPA, as Nonprofit Lifecycle Institute’s next President & CEO. Her tenure begins immediately.

 

Jennifer has served as the Institute’s Associate Director for the last twelve months.  She is responsible for developing and implementing our membership program and annual conference, recruiting new foundation partners, bringing a technology lens to our work, and much more.

 

Jennifer earned a Masters in Public Administration, Nonprofit Administration Concentration from Arizona State University. She holds the Institute’s highest certification (CLCC), and she leads capacity consulting with dozens of local and national foundations and nonprofits.

 

Jennifer was Executive Director for both Valley Permaculture Alliance and Arizona Public Health Association. She is the owner and founder of JHB Executive Consultants, and she consults for Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust’s Atlas and Agile Programs. Since 2015, she has been working and consulting with Vitalyst Health Foundation.

 

Jennifer’s appointment highlights our shared vision for the future of the Institute.

 

When I launched the Institute in May of 2016, I had no idea that demand would be so immediate. We have you to thank for that — our early believers, funders throughout the U.S. and Canada who have adopted lifecycles as their capacity frame, our nonprofit partners, as well as our consultant members who are hungry for professional development and affiliation with other capacity peers.  The Institute is proud to have become your professional home.  Strong Nonprofits.  Stronger Communities.

 

Everything has happened faster than anticipated, and with ever-increasing demand, so comes the critical need to address the future.  I’ve known from the start that I am the Institute’s birth mother, not the one to lead it to adulthood. With so many opportunities before us, the time is now for me to move to a different seat on the Institute bus.  I am not retiring.  Rather, I will move to a role of Senior Advisor — teaching, writing, speaking and available for select projects over the next several years. One of those projects is Lead Consultant for the fourteen-month Certification Academy launched earlier this month with a cohort of eighteen, seasoned consultants from the U.S. and Canada.

 

Successful transitions are at the heart of lifecycle work, and the founder transition is one of the trickiest.  Jennifer and I intend to get this right.  We have worked extremely well together over the past year.  We have every confidence our leadership transition will result in exciting new programs for our members and funders, and a sustainable future for the Institute itself.

 

Please join me in welcoming Jennifer Bonnett, as the Institute’s new President & CEO! And, please mark your calendar to join us for an evening event on January 15th to Celebrate the Future during our Annual Institute Conference. With Jennifer’s skilled leadership, and your continued support, the Institute is in very capable hands!
