Lifecycles Launch: Nonprofit Capacity Building Cohort Program

Lifecycles Launch is an advanced, in-depth cohort program conducted in-person by the NLI team. Each participating nonprofit is matched with a Lifecycles-trained consultant* who supports them through the development of a comprehensive 6-month Capacity Self-Assessment and an 18-month Capacity Improvement Plan. This is followed by an 18-month Implementation phase.

Lifecycles Launch Includes:

  • Preparation & Planning (3-6 months)
  • Consultant Pre-Training for Cohort Process (1 month)
    • Consultants are prepped for the cohort program structure.
  • Lifecycles Cohort Program (24 months)
    • Capacity Self-Assessment & Improvement Plan (6 months): Facilitated creation of an organization-specific plan.
    • Capacity Improvement Implementation (18 months): Execution of the Improvement Plan.
    • Includes six Consultant Prep & Check-In Meetings (2–3 hours each) and six Leadership Team Cohort Sessions (4 hours each).
    • Review and approve the Organization Self-Assessment and Capacity Improvement Plan
    • Oversee grant disbursement to ensure fidelity during implementation.
  • Closeout Process (3 months)
    • Reflection sessions for consultants and nonprofits.
    • Final report summarizing outcomes, lessons learned, and key recommendations.

Additional Costs:

  • *Consultant for Each Organization: Contracted through funder or NLI. Approximately 150 hours of consulting.
  • Extra Books: Get additional print or e-book copies of Nonprofit Lifecycles: Stage-based Wisdom for Nonprofit Capacity at a reduced rate.
  • Implementation Grants: Funding to support implementation of Capacity Improvement Plan working with the matched consultant.
  • In-person Meetings: Location costs, hosted lunch, and refreshments.
