What is the Selfie?

The Selfie is a step-by-step mini-assessment tool for a nonprofit team to analyze and reflect on capacity areas for improvement. This tool helps nonprofit organizations pinpoint “where they are” and identify capacity needs based for their Lifecycle stage. The Online Selfie results can be compiled and sent to the organization lead for evaluation. The Selfie is also available in a print booklet via the Store.

When should the Selfie be used?

Use the Selfie to guide your organization through transition periods, such as new leadership or strategic planning by grounding the organization in the reality of its current capacity.

How does the Online Selfie work?

The team lead completes the Selfie Request Form, generating a unique link for the organization. Each team member (board and staff) completes the Selfie, with the team lead able to access the results. *Optional: Receive the data in Excel, PDF, PPT, and/or a summarized report by the NLI team.

Who should complete the Selfie?

The assessment should be completed by a team made up of board members and staff. It can be self-directed or facilitated by a Lifecycles Consultant.
